unconditional love

an old man, retired from his old work long ago....
all of his children grow up and all are walking to their own journey in their life.
now he live alone in his old house, not leaving for his memories with his beloved wife, who has departed ealier than him.
but he doesn't feel lonely.
he accept his fate and live his life as fully as he can.

until one day, he walk out from the house to buy some groceries.... he saw a boy with all of his orange fall out from his bag.

"watch out little one!" he shout to the boy.

the boy doesn't reply his shout.

the boy crawling and move to get all of his oranges. until one of the orange rolling until to the old man's feet. the old man take the orange and give it to him.
"here you go, little one."

the boy take the orange and said "thank you very much..."

"next time be careful okay, little one?" and the old man walk away from the boy.....

....but he was stopped by the boy. the boy then take money out of his pocket and give it to the old man "here,"

puzzled by this situation, the old man asked "why are you giving me money?"

the boy replied "because you helped me."

the old man shakes his head and said "but i don't want your money."

"there's no way you don't want anything from me, sir." the boy's face look serious.

"what do you mean?"

"when people helping something for other people, they must have reason to do that. i don't know why you want to help me, but i just can give you this money. take it, sir."

this really shocked him. he cannot believe such words come out from this boy's mouth. but it is true that most people always doing something good by believing they will get something in return. the old man chuckling. there are many more for you to learn for this world. now he has the feeling to teach this boy something important. something the humanity should have.

"little one, how many oranges in your bag?"

"ten, sir."

"how many orange if 10 oranges -1 oranges?"

"nine, sir."

"then how many orange if the 9 oranges - 9 oranges?"

"nothing."

"yes, your answer is correct logically."

"what do you mean sir?"

"then, another question, you have this 10 oranges, and you meet a person who really needs 10 oranges right now. how much will you give it to him?"

".... 5 maybe...."

"why you didn't give him all of your oranges? you can actually buy another oranges later."

"why should i? i bought the oranges, why should i give it all? i only get nothing."

"logically."

"why you say like that? what do you mean by logically?"

"you have been to school, learning maths, science, language and anything, but that doesn't cover everything. the world is more than that. little one, in math, it is true that when you minus one with one, you get nothing, but you actually gain something ten times, just in another way."

"no way."

"it is true, little one. open up your eyes and look at everything you have. you will realize it."

"but doesn't that same with what i'm said? people do have reason to help somebody."

"yes, but not to the person that we help."

"then who?"

"god. the lord of law and universe."

"if that is true, why many people doesn't believe in that?"

"many people. not the world, little one."

"what do you mean, sir?"

"if many people doing the bad thing and say it right, will you follow it?"

"maybe."

"that kind of thinking is wrong. bad things is the bad things. just because many people follow it doesn't mean it is right. you have to be wise when following something."

"....." the boy look down, embarrassed from the old man.

"now, do you get the message that i want to give to you?"

"yes..."

"what do you understand?"

"not everything can be logically happen...."

"and?"

"... there are things in this world that are more than gaining and losing."

"and there are many more you have to learn little one. you still have a long way to go."

"yes sir."

the old man smiles. "now go home little one, your parent's will be worry if you doesn't go home yet."

"wait sir!" said the boy.

"yes?" ask the old man.

"can i meet you again?"

the old man smiles at him and say "of course you can little one. someday, come to my home. i will treat you with my delicious cookies."

"and i can learn many more things with you." said the boy with his eyes full of enthusiasm.

"yes! that is true." and the old man takes out a paper and a pen and write his address and give it to the boy. "next time, come with your parents too. i'm sure they also delighted to taste my special cooking at my home."

"yes sir! thank you very much!" and the boy running home as fast as he can until the old man cannot see the boy anymore.

the old man walks slowly, reminiscing the moment that happen earlier. "we might be fated to meet, little one. but i don't know what kind of story you will make in this world. but there is one thing i know, all this happen because of love from god, the one who greatly loves all his creature on earth."
